The NDV Parents’ Association (NDVPA) works closely with the faculty, staff and administration to foster a strong and welcoming school community, and to raise funds to enrich our programs. The NDVPA supports a wide variety of field trips, cultural and sports activities for students as well as educational programs for parents.
The Parents’ Association is comprised of all current parents, who actively and enthusiastically volunteer their time. A sampling of the many activities the PA organizes throughout the year include:
Volunteer at NDV
Both the school and the church are always looking for people to help out. If you have a special skill or would simply like to give some time contact the school office at:

Family Picnic
Each September, the Family Picnic brings the NDV community outdoors to eat and play together. This is a Sunday afternoon event in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Families gather to relax and enjoy a meal and refreshments prepared by the parents. Best of all, the students engage in traditional games including tug-of-war, potato sack races and the egg toss game. There is normally a craft table and a dessert contest as well. This is one of the few off-campus and outdoor events for all. It takes advantage of NDV being close to one of SF’s historic city parks.
Halloween Carnival
NDV’s Halloween Carnival embodies the best of this national holiday. It gives our families an opportunity to be creative in various ways, whether it be through costumes, decorating pumpkins, baking treats or volunteering to decorate the school. It includes a dinner outdoors, a themed-haunted house experience produced by the 8th grade families, a circuit of seasonal games run by parents, a craft table and more. Although not required, students and most of the parents come in lively costumes. It is a Saturday evening event.
Book Fair
The NDV Fall Book Fair celebrates our community’s love for reading. The auditorium is transformed into a popup bookstore. For a week, this fair features an array of products and books to inspire NDV families and staff. In recent years, it has become a collaboration with local bookstores. It has included author events, contests and various group activities. Additionally, parents can purchase and donate books and materials to classrooms and the school library.
Marche de Noel
NDV’s Christmas Boutique opens just days before Christmas. This one-day event has parents transform the auditorium into an adorable holiday shop for the school. This holiday activity offers all students an opportunity to select presents for their loved ones and experience the joy of giving.
Crab Feed
This event raises money specifically for NDV’s sports program. It is an adult only evening and focuses on one of the Bay Area’s culinary specialties and traditions. It is a casual evening and gives parents an opportunity to connect through lively conversation and delicious food prepared by the parents.
Father-Daughter Dinner Dance
This event offers NDV’s fathers and daughters a special night out. It is a themed-event and costumes are highly encouraged. Consistently, a fun photo booth has helped to capture the joy of being with friends and fathers. Dinner is organized in the cafe and there is ton of music and dancing!
Mother-Daughter Tea
This Sunday afternoon event offers moms and daughters time to connect with community in a lovely environment. For this event, the PA partners with a historic hotel in its neighborhood. It honors the tradition of afternoon tea.
Jog-A-Thon
With little overhead, this daytime, in-school activity supports the NDV sports program. Students are encouraged to ask family and friends to pledge money for the number of laps they run. It promotes healthy bodies and minds, and gets the students moving and cheering each other on.
International Night
Every other year, on a Saturday night in the spring, the NDV’s auditorium is transformed into an international marketplace of homemade specialties. Parents produce food stations representing their diversity and heritage. It is a festive and unique evening for all.
Mother-Son Dinner Dance
This new event honors the mother-son relationship. It is themed and themed-accessories are highly encouraged. There is a meal prepared by parents and dancing for all.
Golf Tournament
This off campus event is designed to generate funds for the PA and gets parents golfing at one of San Francisco’s beloved and historic golf courses in the Presidio. After a long day of golf and connecting outdoors with friends, a celebration dinner occurs in the clubhouse.
Sports Award Night
This springtime event honors the athletic efforts and commitment of the NDV students. It honors those who participate in San Francisco’s Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Additionally, parent coaches gather and help distribute medals to acknowledge the students’ participation and teamwork.
Poker Night
This event happens every other year. It is an adult only event. Parents enjoy the art of poker while fundraising for NDV’s cultural enrichment program and sports program.
