With a vibrant history spanning nine decades, Ecole Notre Dame des Victoires (NDV) is one of San Francisco’s most beloved institutions. A Catholic elementary school, NDV welcomes students and families of all faiths, races, and ethnic backgrounds. Its active alumni, many of whom have become prominent business and civic leaders, continue to maintain close ties with their alma mater, including enrolling their own children in the school, testifying to both NDV’s enduring benefits and its vitality as a community.
Providing a rigorous academic program and nurturing environment, NDV has maintained its status as one of the most desirable elementary schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. Its dedicated faculty and its spirited school community draws students from every San Francisco neighborhood, as well as from nearby counties. NDV cultivates in its students a compassionate world view, a personal sense of purpose, and a joy of learning. It remains true to its mission to support the spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of each of its students as preparing them to matriculate to the top local high schools, both Catholic and independent and the most competitive universities throughout the country.
Nestled in San Francisco’s French Quarter, near the portals of Chinatown, and minutes from Union Square and Nob Hill, NDV offers its students an ideal location for cultural and historical enrichment. Its proximity and easy access to nearby museums, theaters, and landmark attractions provide a unique educational advantage to all students.
Remaining true to its French-Catholic heritage, NDV also recognizes the value of instilling in its students an appreciation of other cultures, as well as the acquisition of a second language. NDV enjoys the singular status of being the only Catholic elementary school in the San Francisco Archdiocese to offer daily instruction in the French language, Kindergarten through eighth grade. It is our belief that few skills will better prepare them to be active contributors to the world that awaits them. In addition to the study of French language and culture, NDV students enjoy ongoing interaction with the local French community.
Ecole Notre Dame des Victoires is a Roman Catholic parochial elementary school founded by the Marist Fathers in 1924. It is located near the financial district of San Francisco. We embrace the values of the Marists and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange and continue our tradition of teaching the French language and culture. As a faith-filled community, the faculty and staff at Notre Dame des Victoires are committed to nurturing our students spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We support a diverse group of learners who endeavor to develop an inclusive and compassionate world vision.
"I have a very special history with Notre Dame des Victoires. I graduated from NDV in 1984, my brother in 1994, my eldest daughter in 2014, her sister enrolled in 2009, and my god daughter enrolled in 2011. As I write this, I am an alum, a parent, a coach, the co chair of the parent's association, member of the parish and strong supporter of the faith community that is NDV. "− Helmut, Parent & Parishioner
"NDV provides a Catholic education, with an emphasis on arts, language (French) and music, in the urban setting of downtown San Francisco. One of the reason's we chose the school is that it exposes our children to the cosmopolitan city that San Francisco is."− Jennifer, Parent
"What we cared about most was strong academics, strong community, and solid values. NDV had them all. "− Charles, Parent
