Welcome Back!

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Welcome back to all of my new second graders and their families.
I hope you all had wonderful vacations and were able to rest and
recharge with your loved ones.

We have already learned about many new ideas in second grade during the
first few days of school. We have learned about Claude Monet, impressionism,
reconciliation, forgiveness, number bonds, tape diagrams, research writing and
editing, following rules, and making new friends.

Some of our student authors have completed research projects on
Abyssinian cats, Indonesia, penguins, and South Korea. We are very impressed
with the second graders’ enthusiasm for learning about their world and sharing
their knowledge with our school community.

We look forward to seeing all of you at Back-to-School-Night!

Working Hard!

4th grade has been very busy getting settled into the new school year. We have worked together to build a classroom constitution for the year and discussed what friendship looks like in 4th grade.

In math we’ve begun talking about place value in base ten operations and started using the writing process as we further develop our writing skills. In September we will begin our novel study, Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo and we can’t wait to dive into reading!

We can’t wait to continue sharing with you our 4th grade journey!

Happy Friday! We made it through the first week!

It has been such a great few days getting to know all of our new Kindergarten friends. This week was short, but it sure was sweet building new friendships, exploring our school, and starting our Kindergarten routine. We spent time learning our classmates names, practicing our writing, and even had our turn on the play structure at recess!

Next week will be a full week of school, with lots of new adventures.  We be introducing the specialty classes that include French, Art, Computers, Library, PE, and Music. On Friday morning we will be having our Opening School Liturgy, be sure to wear your full uniform!

Hope everyone has a fun and restful weekend!
