Who can get married at NDV?
Any baptized Roman Catholic may marry at Notre Dame des Victoires Church
with an ordained priest or deacon to witness the Sacrament of
Marriage. The consent of your pastor, along with a commitment
regarding the marriage preparation process and a written commitment
from the presiding priest is necessary before marriage scheduling can
be finalized. A $250 non-refundable deposit must also be made to
reserve the church for your ceremony.
What are the dates/times of weddings?
Weddings are on Saturdays at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
What is the handicap access at NDV?
There is an elevator available, allowing persons in wheelchairs to
enter the church from sidewalk-level.
Where do you Park?
There are 3 spots available in front of the church which are
available upon request. Guests should park at the Sutter-Stockton
garage directly across the street. On-street parking in the area is
very difficult to find.
Is there a fee/cost involved?
For those who are not part of our regular worshipping community at NDV, or not
part of the regular worshipping French or Basque Catholic
communities, the fee is $1200 for the use of the church. If the
services of an NDV resident priest are requested to preside for the
ceremony, a fee of $200 is requested for those services. For
resident worshipping parishioners of NDV or for members of the
worshipping French or Basque Catholic communities, the fee is $600,
with or without the participation of an NDV resident priest.
How much advance notice is required?
At least six months advance notice is required to prepare for a
wedding at NDV.
Are there restrictions on decorations, like
placement of flowers, aisle runners, candles, etc.?
Runners or rugs are not permitted during marriage ceremonies.
Flowers are placed according to the logistics of the ceremony. It is
appreciated if flowers are left for the use of the church after your
ceremony is ended. Flowers and other decorations should never be
affixed to the church/pews except by non-damaging, removable means.
How is the music handled? Can NDV provide musicians, or can we provide our own?
The grand pipe organ of NDV is available only when played by the NDV organist.
Use of the organ is not assumed with use of the church. The organist
and/or cantor must be contacted separately in order to schedule their
participation in your ceremony. Scheduling of musicians is the
responsibility of the wedding couple. You may provide your own music
and musicians, however any and all music played or sung in
conjunction with your ceremony must be within church liturgical
guidelines.
When can photos be taken?
Photos are normally taken after the ceremony.
