Special Services
Taizé service
A Taizé service is primarily meditative but blends music, word, and
silence together. It is both a communal and yet largely individual
activity. Silence is a central part of this service and is a gift to
those leading busy, hectic lives. It provides an opportunity to
commune with God through the heart and bring a measure of peace to
one's mind and spirit. It lasts for about an hour and consists mostly
of singing with periods of silent meditation, prayers of intercession,
and with readings from the book of Psalms and Gospels. Upcoming Taizé
services:
First Eucharist service for NDV students
NDV prepares children to receive their First Holy Communion, an
important step in their faith development. First Eucharist allows
children to participate more fully in the family of the Church by
sharing communion with the rest of our faith community. For more
information on preparation for first Eucharist, contact the rectory at 415-397-0113.
Adoration of the Eucharist
Adoration of the Eucharist begins in communion and leads to acts of
Eucharistic piety, adoring God the Father, in Spirit and in Truth, in
the risen and living Christ, truly present among us. For information
on upcoming Adoration services, contact the rectory at 415-397-0113.
